Montoya Dominated First Martinsville Practice; Stewart Fastest Late

Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin both jumped over Juan Pablo Montoya in the closing minutes of the first practice session at Martinsville Speedway. Montoya had dominated the leader board throughout in race trim as well as qualifying trim. Jeff Gordon and Hamlin were consistent throughout in both set-ups, but Jimmie Johnson never got up to speed. Gordon finished ninth while Johnson finished 13th fastest.

Friday's First practice for the Tum's Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway is being over, after 90 scheduled minutes, the top-5, slowest and notes:
#14-Stewart 97.548

#11-Hamlin 97.422
#42-Montoya 97.312
#16-Biffle 97.202
#00-Reutimann 97.172
#83-Kahne = 29th
#9-Almirola = 36th
slowest: #7-Conway 93.999 and #66-Johnny Sauter 94.097
incidents: #66-Sauter said he had something go wrong with the car and backed the car in to the wall, looks like the team will need a backup. #92-Setzer and smacked the wall and looks like the team will need a backup but has none, so the team has withdrawn from the race. #47-Ambrose spun out in turn 2, looks like no damage, cool looking paint scheme on the #47.(10-22-2010) From Jayski.com
